About me

 

My name is Marlisa Simonis, 21 years old, and I live in the Netherlands. I've been drawing all my life but started seriously at age 14. I'm self taught, and trained myself by drawing from a looooot of pictures.
In 2007 I started at the Academy of Art Amsterdam, and learned for teacher in Fine Arts (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Amsterdam, Academie voor Beeldende vorming). After 2 not so very succesfull years, I decided that it wasn't something for me.
I didn't learn much new techniques in 2D, and classes like 3D (working with clay and wood and stuff) turned out to be a disaster.

The year after that (2009), I didn't do much basically. I worked while searching for a new school and joined a training in oil painting at a local Art Educational Centre.

Since 2010 I'm an Applied Psychology student, and most of the time busy with assignments for my school. I'd like to spend more time drawing, and that's one of the reasons that I changed this website. To motivate myself to draw more, to upload all the things, and to accept drawing-(or painting) assignments.

Next to my artwork, I'm also a musician in the band Baorisa.
